"There are some items of power in the Labyrinth that seem to have a will or even a sentience of their own. These are powerful tools. Never forget, however, that they have their mission just as you have your own. They will leave when they feel their goals have been met, or if they find you unworthy of meeting them, with little regard to whether it is an opportune time for the one who has been their wielder."
—Irminric Ward.
Iaoth
This slender, elegant greatsword could almost be wielded in one hand if not for its sheer length. Iaoth's balance is different from most blades of its size, but its power is obvious, and worth the practice needed to master the quick, sure cuts it's made for.
A burning rage can be felt within the sword: it wants above all else to seek out and destroy demons and the arcane spellcasters who are often their servants. To hold Iaoth is to understand that it has little tolerance for mercy. Once it has struck an infidel, it will not be satisfied unless it finishes the job, to the point that it might even seek to dominate the will of an unprepared warrior who thinks to spare a sorcerer's life.
Iaoth was acquired by the Evening Star guild under mysterious circumstances. It turned out that the woman who offered them an enchanted blade had committed suicide several weeks earlier, and no sign of her but the blade itself was left upon their return. It's unclear how such a powerful weapon was so close to Ascelia without being noticed.

Fullblade +5
Critical: 15 ongoing damage (no save). This damage is cumulative.
Property: Iaoth scores a critical hit on a roll of 19-20.
Property: Iaoth deals an additional 3d8 damage on any successful charge.
Power (Daily): Free action after scoring a successful hit with Iaoth. Make three melee basic attacks against the same opponent, with a +5 bonus to hit with each attack. Any attacks that miss can be re-attempted later. A Daily Item Power is not expended until all three attacks hit.
Concordance 20: Iaoth has reached what seems to be its full potential. Revealed to be one and the same as Ayperos, who was once the angel Iaoth before being transformed into a Demon Lord, the weapon contains a pure shard of that heavenly being's lost essence. Though liberated by the destruction of his corrupted form in the Nightmare, Iaoth has chosen to remain with Alicia until her quest is complete.
Iaoth seems to be at peace since its corrupted form was defeated. Yet while Amriel seems to have been a serene angel, Alicia's companion was always fundamentally a being of wrath. Iaoth's overriding desire remains to destroy evil in all of its forms - the only difference is that now, instead of sometimes seizing control of Alicia, it provides a constant reminder that mercy alone cannot bring victory.
History 26: You are certain that this blade, though well worthy of being a legendary weapon, is unmentioned in any known text.
Religion 36: There is no doubt that Iaoth was the name of a powerful angel, and that Ayperos was that angel's physical form warped by some terrible power. Exactly how Iaoth became Ayperos is unknown.
Arcana 30: The inscription on the sword seems to be a corrupted form of the symbolic language used by the swordmages of the empire that stood before Mourclesis. Its best translation is "2:9: Vanity."
Amriel
Amriel takes the form of a simple oaken quarterstaff - but even a layman might be deceived by this appearance for only the briefest of moments. Where Cerviel sheds its utilitarian facade only when battle is joined, Amriel's length pulses with flecks of emerald or azure light whenever it is exposed to sunlight, and when near water, slender vines and leeks sprout from the wood. The plantlife clusters near the alien inscription on the quarterstaff's shaft, as though blooming from the runes.
Most who live on Asherah have only experienced synthetic vegetation - what few true, living plants can still be grown are so immensely valuable as to only be owned by the richest men and women of the Three Cities. To walk any city street or Labyrinth corridor with Amriel is to bring flourishing life, however small, where for a long time there has been none.
In addition to its more powerful abilities, Amriel's blue aura can also shed small amounts of pristine water, which its wielder is compelled to offer to the poor.

Concordance 20: Amriel has reached what seems to be its full potential. Revealed to be one and the same as Nergal, who was once the angel Amriel before being transformed into a Demon Lord, the weapon contains a pure shard of that heavenly being's lost essence. Though liberated by the destruction of his corrupted form in the Nightmare, Amriel has chosen to remain with Inanna until her quest is complete.
Amriel seems to be at peace since its corrupted form was defeated. Now the sense Inanna receives from the staff is that of great determination, the angel within compelling her to be more confident.
History 26: You are certain that this staff, though well worthy of being a legendary weapon, is unmentioned in any known text.
Religion 36: There is no doubt that Amriel was the name of a powerful angel, and that Nergal was that angel's physical form warped by some terrible power. Exactly how Amriel became Nergal is unknown.
Arcana 30: The inscription on the sword seems to be a corrupted form of the symbolic language used by the swordmages of the empire that stood before Mourclesis. Its best translation is "7:9: Shadows."
Cassiel
This ancient weapon is composed not of iron or steel but shimmering energy. To wield Cassiel is to draw it into one's being - its inert form is that of a single strand of azure eldritch light, which fuses with the arm when lifted up. From there it can be manifested in an endless variety of forms, dictated by its wielder's will, and even hurled in the form of raw energy.
Though it conforms to a general image when left to its own (that of a curving but slender blade emanating from the top of the wrist, glowing blue), Cassiel can change in shape and color depending on its wielder's emotional state. It might become vicious claws with a bloodred aura when one is enraged, be tossed as a spectral knife when absolute precision is key, or flicker in moments of extreme doubt (though these go against its nature and are like to be seldom).

Accurate Dagger +5
Critical: 5d10 and Flurry of Blows damage is dealt again to all available targets.
Property: Five Storms may be used as a Melee or Ranged 5 Basic Attack. When Five Storms is used as a Melee Basic Attack, you can deal your Flurry of Blows damage even when it isn't your turn.
Property: Your Strength modifier is added as an Item Bonus to all damage rolls.
Power (Encounter): Free. Any Monk Daily or Encounter power can be used at Range 10, and does not provoke an Opportunity Attack.
Power (Daily): Free action after scoring a critical hit with an attack power that hits multiple targets. All targets hit by the power suffer the critical hit damage.
Concordance 10: Cassiel has come into Rugen's possession at greater strength than the Evening Star's other artifacts so far. The Half-Orc senses that his weapon "knows" he has been fighting alongside its brothers and sisters for some time.
When he manifests Cassiel's blade, Rugen feels a great sense of determination and confidence. Already something of a loner by nature, the artifact assures him that the only thing he needs to accomplish anything is himself.
History 26: You are certain that this blade, though well worthy of being a legendary weapon, is unmentioned in any known text.
Religion 36: It's certain that Cassiel contains the fragmented power of the angel that became Deumos, like Iaoth, Cerviel, and Amriel before it.
Arcana 30: Within the heart of the energy blade sometimes flow runic lights that seem to be a corrupted form of the symbolic language used by the swordmages of the empire that stood before Mourclesis. Its best translation is "3:9: Malady."
